Operating Intelli-SMART™

Drives Screen:
Intelli-SMART™ monitors both drives and volumes for SMART conditions. In the Drives screen, you will be able to see the physical hard drive specifications, manufacturer, serial number, and other drive-specific information that the manufacturer includes.

On the right side of the screen, you will be able to see the various parameters that are available on your drive that will be monitored by Intelli-SMART™ for failure conditions.

On this screen, you can also turn on and off the SMART monitoring for the drive by clicking on the SMART enabled button in the bottom of the screen. You can also run short and long SMART tests on the drive by choosing the test in the drop down menu and clicking start - and stop if you wish to end the test early. If you have enabled the failure simulation on the drive configuration screen, this will also be a good way to test your alerter configuration before putting the Intelli-SMART™ into live service.

NOTE: This will show SCSI drives if the controller supports passing SMART data through to the application. Some controllers do not support this feature, and will only display the volumes in Intelli-SMART™

Volumes Screen:
Intelli-SMART™ monitors both drives and volumes for SMART conditions. In the Volumes screen, you will be able to see the individual volume specifications for each volume on the system. This includes RAID volumes.

On the right side of the screen, you will be able to see the various parameters that are available on your volume that will be monitored by Intelli-SMART™ for failure conditions.

NOTE: Some SCSI controllers do not support the ability to pass SMART data through to the application, and therefore only the volumes may be displayed in Intelli-SMART™

Logs:
The logging feature will allow you to filter the logs by severity by selecting the level in the drop down menu on the upper right of the screen.

You can also save the log file and clear the log file by using the Save and Clear buttons on the lower left.
